In 1993, Apple released a computer that launched the PDA revolution.
The Newton quickly
became a cult device, a symbol of the digital future. In 1994 a group
of developers formed Sine of the Times to
write software for this inspiring computer. The company produced over
its lifetime several notable Newton applications -- the most famous
being ShowTime, a touch screen remote, that at its peak made it into
Wired magazine.
The company's most succesful retail application was BluePrint 2, a full-featured Project Management System for the Newton. The luscious interface received many accolades.
In 1999 soon after the decision by Apple not to produce further
MessagePads, Sine of the Times' software was acquired by Sarofax and
re-released as charityware which raised approximately $3200 US over 5
years.
In November 2004, all the applications and source code were made open-source. This is our last gift to the Newton community, and we hope it will be of value to you.
